It started in a tiny building down the street.
In 1982 this was a mom-and-pop shop buying coins and gold. Everything since has been built on the same promise, and mostly by the same family.
Two generations of the Foster family behind the same counter. Bring in one coin or an entire estate — we'll tell you exactly what it is, exactly what it's worth, and exactly how we got there.
Pawn loans and outright offers on gold, diamonds, Rolex, sterling, coins and designer bags. Quick, confidential, and no judgment — ever.
See what it's worth → Door twoGraded coins, currency and bullion, estate diamonds, Rolex, and authentic gently-loved Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Dealers drive hours for this floor.
Walk the showroom →Forty years of knowing what a coin is has to go somewhere. Four things you can play with right now — then bring the real thing in and we'll put it under the loupe with you, free, whether you're nine or seventy-nine.
Empty your pockets tonight. Pick a coin, type the year on it, and find out what's actually in your hand. Some of it is silver.
Silver values use the live Kitco bid at the top of this page. A coin can be worth far more than its metal — date, mint mark and condition all matter, which is what the next three exhibits are about.
That tiny letter tells you which building struck your coin. Tap one.
Every graded coin carries a number from 1 to 70. Drag it and watch what the number actually means.
Devised in 1949 by Dr. William Herbert Sheldon, originally for large cents. Grades 1–58 have circulated; 60–70 are Mint State, meaning the coin never spent a day as money.
Gold, silver or platinum by weight, at today's spot. This is the honest ceiling — the number before anyone's margin.
Every dealer buys under melt, including us — that margin is how forty people get paid. Knowing the ceiling means you can judge any offer in the Valley, ours included.
Every fact in this gallery is sourced and checkable — U.S. Mint, the Coinage Act of 1965, and the Sheldon scale. If you spot an error, tell us and we'll fix it.

The Golden Opportunity gold-buying event exists to fund Valley schools. Coats for Kids, Change Bandits and the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway sit alongside it.
“The staff is so knowledgeable about coins, the value of metals, jewelry and even the unique history of our area. They treat my 10 and 6 year old boys with sincerity and encourage their curiosity in coin history and collecting.”
“I have been going to Fresno Coin Gallery since I was a child. I can remember my dad telling me this was the place to go for an honest deal, and he was right.”
“I'm a professional coin dealer, and drive hundreds of miles to come to Fresno Coin at least twelve times a year — the variety, the expertise, and the personal service.”
